Volunteer Positions Available:

Packet Pick-Up Saturday 12/16/23 at Road Runner Sports Campbell

We will be holding a race packet pick up at Road Runners on Saturday Dec 16 from 10:00-2:00pm. Participants will be able to pick up their race bib and so on. Volunteers will be assisting with checking in runners, and passing out race bibs, shirts, and goody bags. You do not need to volunteer all day, but any hours would really help us.

Race Morning Set-Up

We will need help setting up the start/finish line areas, as well as the expo area befor the race. Early arrival would help, a 545 am meeting time at the expo area next to Stevens Stadium. Volunteers will be able to assist setting up the expo area booths, as well as the start and finish lines. 

Parking Management

We will have two parking locations this year. One is the Leavey Center parking lot off of Accolti Way, and also the main parking garage accessed through the main entry of the campus on Palm Drive off El Camino Real. Our goal is to make getting to the race and parking as easy as possible for our participants. You will be asked to guide cars into the parking lot, and maybe point participants in the right direction towards the start line.

Race Morning Registration

Please help us with morning of race registration, and packet pick-up. This will be an extremely important role for race morning, so we absolutely need as many volunteers as possible. Volunteers will help us sign up last minute registrations, and pass out race bibs and shirts to participants who have yet to pick up their race packets. Meeting location will be at the registration/packet pick-up tables located within the expo area next to Buck Shaw Field at 6:00am. We will need help setting up this area, that way we are prepared to sign up as many people as possible prior to the race start.

Course Marshall

Course Marshall will be a position on the race route directing runners in the correct direction. Marshalls will most likely be placed at intersections, or race course change in directions. Specific locations will be assigned on race morning. Marshalls will need to be at the start/finish area for a briefing around 7:30 am, and in their proper locations by 8:00am. Race starts promptly at 8:30am.

Aid Station at The Hut

An aid station will be located at The Hut located at 3200 The Alameda. Volunteers will be asked to fill water cups, and pass out the water and Clif Bar products to runners. Meet at the start line at approximately 7:30 am, and be in position at the aid station by 8:00am. 

Post Race Food/Drink

We will be offering many post race treats to our runners following the completion of the race. Please sign up to help us manage these items and pass them out to runners within the expo area.

Post Race Clean-Up

Help us clean up following the race. We want to leave Santa Clara University as clean as it was before the race. This will hopefully allow us to use Stevens Stadium each year for our race. Clean up will begin following the completion of race day festivities. 

Course Sweeper

The course sweepers will be responsible for following the last 5k participants confirming their completion. At that time, the sweepers will notify race officials so that the course can be re-opened as quickly as possible for vehicluar traffic. We request sweepers be on a bicycle or motorcycle in order to efficiently follow participants.
